BangkokHospitalPattayawasfoundedon23rdJune1990inPattaya,aseasideholidaydestination,whichhasgrowntobecomeoneofthemostpopularThailandholidaydestinationsandislocatedontheEasternSeaboardofThailand,Chonburiprovince.Itisoneofthe30locationsrunbyBangkokDusitMedicalServices,theBangkokHospitalGroupandisthemainreferralhospitalfortheEasternSeaboardofThailand.

Wehavebeengrowingsince1990,tobecomea300bedfacilityandthecenterofspecializedhealthcarewhichprovidesallnecessarydiagnosticandcurativeservices.

OurHeartCenter:Thisisequippedwithallspecialdiagnosticinstrumentstoanalyzetheheartanditconditions,includingtwoCatheterizationlabsforCoronaryArteryAngiogramstodetectblockedarteriesaroundtheheart,equipmentforCardiacElectrophysiologicalStudy(EP)andRadioFrequency(RF)CardiacAblationandDeviceTherapy.WecancarryoutCoronaryArteryBypassSurgerywithoutusinganartificialheart-lungmachine.

WearethefirsthospitalintheEasternRegionwithallthesetechnologies,equivalenttothoseusedinthemajorhospitalsinBangkok.

WealsoestablishedrenownedcenterssuchasourBrainandNeuro-ScienceCenter,EmergencyMedicalServicesCenter,BeautyCenter-DermatologyandCosmeticSurgeryCenter,MinimallyInvasiveSpineSurgeryCenteretc.

Forthepasttwodecades,wehavealsostrivedcontinuouslytobecomeacenterofexcellence.Thishasledustorecruitmorethan100fulltimespecialistscurrentlyactiveinourhospital,andmadeusinvestinmodernhigh-techmedicalequipmenttohelpthosespecialiststomakeaccuratediagnosesandtohelpthemgivethebestavailabletreatmentstotheirpatients.TheseincludeDigitalMRI3.0T,128-sliceCTscan,OCTscan(forretinaltomography),PACS(PictureArchivingandCommunicationSystem)andcompletelyelectronicpatientrecords.

Ontopofthat,tocreateamoreconvenientandcomfortableambienceforourcustomers,theareaofBangkokHospitalPattayawasexpandedfrom5to9acres(20,800squaremetersto36,800squaremeters)andsinceNovember2006anew15storeybuildingwasaddedtotheoriginalcomplex.

Notonlyhasourhospitalgrown,butPattayaisalsochangingforthebetter,becomingaworldrenownedfamilytouristdestinationandpreferred“retirementdestination”.

Alargenumberofinternationaltouristsvisitthiscityeachyear(40percentofthetotalnumberofallourpatients).Thehospitalprovidesinterpreterscoveringmorethan20differentlanguagestoassistpatientsinallmatterscoveringcommunicationwiththemedicalpersonnel,healthinsuranceproblems,embassyliaisonandalsoreferralservices.Thehospitalalsohasculturalandlanguagetrainingcoursesforthestaffmakesuretheyunderstandculturaldifferencesanddeveloptheirlanguageskillstoprovidethebestservicefortheinternationalpatients.Ofcourse,wealsoserviceThaipatientswhoareequallyimportanttous,withthesamestandardsandmedicaltechnology.

BangkokHospitalPattayawascertifiedISO9002in1997(andupdatedtoISO90012000),andinthesameyear,thehospitalwasofficiallyrecognizedasthebestproviderofgoodsandservices,inthefieldofbusinessesservinghighnumbersofforeigncustomers.BangkokHospitalPattayaisonlythethirdhospitalthathasbeenawardedthisaccolade.Asthecontinuousdevelopmentofthehospitalcontinues,BangkokHospitalPattayahasbeengiventhebestHospitalManagementAsiaAwards,TheHMAAwards,forthreeconsecutiveyears:2004,2005and2006.

TheBangkokHospitalPattayawhichhadbeenaccreditedinitiallybytheJointCommissionInternational(JCI)in2009,wasreviewedbytheJCIinSeptember2012andthenagainin2015,toseeifthepreviousstandardsofexcellencewerestillbeingmetbythehospital.

Thereviewprocesstakesaweek,forthepanelofoverseasexaminerstogothroughallthedifferentdepartmentsofthehospital,examinestandardworkingpracticesandinterviewdoctorsandnurses,aswellasjudgingthestandardsofthehousekeeping,thewardsandtheOutPatientClinicsandalladministrativeprocesses.Nomatterhowwellpreparedyoufeelthatyouare,untiltheexaminerspublishtheirfindings,itisanervoustimeforthemanagementandstaffwhoworkhardtomeetthestandards,botholdandnew,forthere-accreditation.Thereweremanysmilingfacesafterthepositiveweek-longreview,whichallowsthehospitaltokeepitsinternationalaccreditationforanotherthreeyears.

Theseawardsaretheresultoftheeffortoftheadministrators,thephysiciansandallstaffBangkokHospitalPattaya.WewillcontinuedevelopingourmedicalservicestandardsandqualitytobeoneofthebesthealthcareprovidersinThailandandSouth-EastAsia.Weconfidentlylookforwardtotheyearstocome.
